Just an update on Millie the Jack Russell and her owner, Kim’s struggle to get Millie back to full fitness after she adopted her last year.
If you remember, Millie was kept in a cage, beaten and starved until she was rescued, in a right old state last year. You can read the previous two posts on her progress by clicking here.
Snuck under the duvet - again!
Kim took her on, underweight, frightened with all sorts of skin problems but now’s shes fighting fit. Here’s the proof in the latest two photos Kim sent over. You’ve gotta love a happy ending!

HI KIM MILLIE LOOKS GREAT BRILL END TO ALL HER PROBLEMS.ONE OF MY DOGS JASPER A J.R.T IV HAD FROM HE WAS 6WKS OLD AND HAS SCRATCHED EVERY DAY FROM DAY ONE.IV TRIED ALL MANNER OF THINGS TO TREAT THIS DISTRESSING CONDITION.BUT TO NO AVAIL.THE PAST MONTH,JASPERS 2 NOW,HES BEEN AT HIS WORST,I THINK ITS ATOPY,AND MUST BE HYPER SENSETIVE TO SO MUCH.IV HIM ON AN ILLIMINATION DIET OF WHITE FISH OR CHICKEN AND VEG PARTICULARLY LONG BEANS AS THEY ARE FULL OF NUTRIENTS AND MINERALS.ITS EARLY DAYS ON THE DIET AND IM NOT HAPPY THAT HE SEEMS HUNGRY ON IT AS HE WAS USED TO HYPOALLERGENIC MIXER TO FILL HIM UP ALONG WITH CHICKEN,LIVER OR FISH TO MAKE IT A BIT TASTIER.I REALLY AM AT MY WITS END AS I KNOW HES SUFFERING.MY OTHER TWO DOGS DONT ITCH AT ALL.IN FACT ITS RARE TO SEE THEM SCRATCH..ANY TIPS IDEAS WOULD BE MOST WELCOME…THANK YOU IN ADVANCE…PAULINE HINDES AND JASPER JAXXON.X

I’m sorry to hear about Jasper’s itching. Atopy is really hard to treat, often it’s a case of managing it. I’m sure this is just teaching granny to suck eggs but I’m assuming you’re washing his bedding on 60 degrees and don’t have any plug in air fresheners about etc. They can really cause problems for some pets and small children.
Also, have you considered putting a good quality omega blend of oils on his food, Yumega Plus is excellent and I get very good feedback for it.

Thank you kim.iv had him on yumega plus.im very careful of washing powders,and plug ins and anything else i think could irritate him,i even leaf pick 4 or 5 times a day so he wont be exposed to anything that might come off them when hes in the garden.thank you for your phone number.ill take note of it.will be buying some of the good products from my itchy dog very soon.ill do anything to improve my wee itchy dogs life..thank you again love to millie….pauline and jasper.x
Thought you’d be on the case. The other thing you can try is putting a tshirt on him before walks as this will catch the pollen, not the dog. Equafleece are good.
